One of the most large-scale events in the oil and gas industry, The Gas. Oil. Technologies Exhibition, and The Russian Petrochemical Forum took place on May 20 to 23, 2025.
The experts gathered together at one area for the purpose of developing the oil and gas industry, implementing innovative technologies and equipment, discussing relevant challenges and the way to solve them.
More than 350 enterprises from various regions of Russia as well as from Belarus Republic, China, Uzbekistan, and other countries took part in the exhibition, and more than 20,000 guests visited their stands. At one of the stands, the Russian Modengy company presented its key solutions to extend service lifetime of the equipment in various industries, essentially in the oil and gas sphere and fittings engineering (see Pic. 1).
Nowadays, in all industries, there are clear tendencies towards downsizing of machinery and friction units, enlarging operational capabilities of the equipment, particularly its operability under conditions that are considered extreme, such as high temperatures up to +1000 °С and above as well as cryogenic ones down to -200 °С, exposure to radiation, deep vacuum, and others, towards reducing costs for machinery maintenance and downtimes.
In the petrochemical complex, equipment is in contact with aggressive transported and extracted media, operated in marine climate where metal structures can get destructed within short terms, oil-producing equipment operates at the Arctic offshore areas, and under other adverse climatic conditions.

As for the pipeline fittings, the units of these devices are exposed to high temperatures, contact pressures, and aggressive media. The Modengy’s experts have presented at their stand the novelties and key solutions developed to extend service lifetime, and to improve operational reliability of the machinery that in operated under complicated modes like these ones. MODENGY anti-friction solid-film coatings (see Pic. 2) provide low friction coefficient in the machinery units, long-term protection for the metal structures against corrosive destruction, operability of the parts at contact with chemically aggressive medium. In order to prevent the underwater equipment from sea fouling, the Modengy’s chemical engineers design biocide-free antifouling coatings.
New functional coatings that add the equipment parts surfaces antistatic, hydrophobic, anti-icing, radiation-protective properties have been demonstrated at the stand, too. The products for cold and hot forming as well as solid-lubricating pastes that will enlarge the product line in 2025 - MODENGY 4005 high-temperature thread paste based on copper, and MODENGY 4006 solid-lubricating paste based on polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) – have been presented for the first time.

The company’s technical specialists also took part in the business agenda of the Exhibition and the Forum, spoke as the experts, and presented unique information on the results of implementing the solid lubrication technology by the enterprises of the petrochemical complex, and the fitting engineering. Mr. Ilya D. Nikolaenko, the Modengy’s leading engineer, presented his report on the topic Anti-Friction and Functional Coatings: Innovations to Improve Reliability of Pipeline Fittings and Oil-and-Gas Equipment (see Pic. 3)

The following examples of series applications of the anti-friction solid-film coatings in the units of pipeline valves were presented to attention of the audience:
- Lead screws
- Valves and shutters of the shut-off and control fittings
- Globe valve plugs
- Control valve parts
- Rack-and-gear drives
- Worm gears
- Nozzles, adjusting bolts, threaded connections of the pipeline fittings.
One more report was presented by Mr. Anton M. Yankilevich, the Modengy’s Technical Director, at the international Conference titled Development of Hydrocarbon Potential: Green Technologie that was arranged by the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University. His report’s theme was Development of New Protective Fluoropolymer Coatings, and Experience of Applicating Them in Oil-and-Gas Production Equipment (see Pic. 4).

The audience got to know from the Modengy’s speaker about possibility to reduce quantity of the lubricating materials that are used now as well as how they can get to the natural environment.
Mrs. Yulia A. Prudnikova, the Modengy’s Development Director, presented her report that will be included into the collected papers of the conference titled Development of Low-Tonnage Chemistry in Russia under Modern Conditions.
“The Modengy’s developments meet the following strategies of developing low-tonnage chemistry: production location in Bryansk town, use of domestic raw materials and components, continuous work on creating new materials according to the customers’ requirements specifications, and for the purpose of substituting the imported materials, etc.
Anti-friction solid-film coatings (AFSFCs) are up-to-date and highly efficient solution for specific range of the tribological tasks in machine engineering. Implementing them contributes to developing low-tonnage chemistry in Russia, reducing dependence from imported materials, and increasing competitiveness of the domestic products.
The Modengy’s experience in designing, manufacturing, and implementing MODENGY AFSFCs demonstrates their high potential to improve reliability, to extend service lifetime and to increase efficiency of the equipment as well as to solve the objective of import substitution. Further development of this trend including creating new compositions and expanding application areas is the relevant task that contributes to technological progress of the domestic industry,” – as it is remarked in the report.
The Modengy team was awarded with the Diploma from the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovations of the Republic of Bashkortostan for its professionalism and relevance of the presented exposition (see Pic. 5).
