Introduction
MODENGY anti-friction solid-film coatings (AFSFCs) are widely enough used by the domestic producers of fittings. High adhesion, low and stable friction coefficient in combination with chemical resistance enable to extend service life of the parts and units by several times. AFSFC is becoming an integral part of the components that contributes to improving anti-friction properties of the surface by adhering with it in a reliable way.
However, applying of the AFSFC requires certain surface features, that is roughness, and cleaning level. It is also necessary to observe polymerization conditions strictly (exposure at certain temperature for a certain while according to instructions).
Also, the structure or production technology of the parts frequently don’t allow to apply the coating onto the both mated surfaces. For instance, if one of them is a cylinder with a developed internal surface such as thread (with 1:3 rate between the part diameter and its length) then need in running-in / fitting of the parts to each other arises, in making press fit and interference fit easier, keeping the parts surface without scuffing at the same time.
Our solutions
For such conditions, we have designed the following dry adaptive lubricating materials: MODENGY A-MOLY based on molybdenum disulfide, and MODENGY A-FLON based on polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE).

They are a mixture of solvents, superdispersed solid-lubrication materials, and functional additives to improve penetration capability of the entire composition. These products are available in aerosol cans with extension nozzle for convenient local use.
One of the basic distinction of MODENGY A-MOLY and MODENGY A-FLON adaptive lubricating materials as opposed to classical AFSFCs is that they have no binder (resin), that’s why filler-powders (molybdenum disulfide in case of MODENGY A-MOLY, and PTFE in case of MODENGY A-FLON) can independently migrate both off one part to another one, and all over the surface area that they are applied on. It is important and especially valuable if roughness of the part surface is too big. The adaptive material fills in the deepest caves of the part surface, and contributes to friction reduction, and to service lifetime extension, in general. Comparative features of AFSFCs and MODENGY dry adaptive lubricating materials are given in Table 1.

Concise description of MODENGY A-MOLY adaptive lubricating material
MODENGY A-MOLY forms a solid-lubricating film that adheres with the part surface in process of friction. This product has low friction coefficient (from 0.03), high load-carrying capability (up to 3,000 MPa), and anti-scuffing properties. Dry lubrication causes no dust and abrasive sticking onto the parts.
This product is chemically inert, operable both under conditions of vacuum and radiation, prevents stick-slip motion, and has a wide service temperature range (-180 to +400°C in the air, and -180… +1100 °C in vacuum). MODENGY A-MOLY provides long service lifetime of the components since it is not subjected to aging, has grey-and-black colour, is available in 520 ml aerosol cans.
Recommended application fields for MODENGY A-MOLY dry adaptive lubricating material
MODENGY A-MOLY is used in the following typical friction units with metal-to-metal pairs:
- Bearings, and slide guideways
- Gearwheels
- Threaded connections, and spline joints
- Lead screws
- Press fits
- Locks
- Chain gears
- Taps, and screw threading dies
- Accessories in engineering processes at treating metals by cold plastic deforming (mandrelling, pressing, punching, bending, etc.)
This product provides friction reduction even at extremely high temperatures, and in vacuum, accelerates running-in rate of spindles, racks, threaded elements of the structure, guideways, and slide bearings.
Concise description of MODENGY A-FLON adaptive lubricating material
MODENGY A-FLON is a pure white non-sticky dry lubricant that leaves no stains, and attracts no dust. Due to use of this product, squeak and stick-slip motion of the parts are removed.
This dry lubrication provides low friction coefficient (from 0.05), and has wide service temperature range (-70…+250 °C).
It is chemically inert, is not subjected to aging, has long service lifetime, is available in 520 ml aerosol cans.
Recommended application fields for MODENGY A-FLON dry adaptive lubricating material
MODENGY A-FLON is used in the metal-to-polymer, polymer-to-polymer friction units:
- Bearings, and slide guideways
- Guideways and sliding supports made of plastic
- Conveyor equipment
- Polymer seals (pneumatic cylinders, and pneumatic drives)
Conclusion
MODENGY dry adaptive lubricating materials provide effective ‘moving’ layer of dry lubrication that enables to significantly cut down running-in time of the conjugated parts in production process and assembly of the apparatuses. These products are easy to apply, and have high penetrability.
