A truck crane is a demanded machinery to do construction, road building, loading, and other works. One of its basic mechanisms is the boom that can move out for some meters length to perform operations at the great height.

Truck crane telescopic boom structure
Basic components of the truck crane telescopic booms are support, retractable segments with sliding plates, devices to telescope, retainers.
Truck cranes telescopic booms are exposed to heavy loads, that affecting the boom sharp bend, that are distributed over the special guideways – sliding plates. In the modern machinery, polymers such as polyamide, for instance, are used as the material to produce the guideways.
The sliding plates are intended to reduce friction between the truck cranes metal segments, and to prevent them from damaging, to reduce gap, to improve smoothness of booms moving out.

The slide guideways are put directly between the sectors, and are fixed on them with bolts.
Because of high specific pressures, the grease lubricating material that is applied onto the sliding plates is squeezed out of the friction zone, and as a result of this truck cranes operating get harder.
The consequences of booms operating without lubricating materials in their units include:
- Incomplete telescoping of the sections
- Operating by jerks, jamming
- Extraneous noise appearing while telescoping
- Parts design geometry changing
- Cracks and corrosion centers appearing on metal
Load-lifting machinery should be maintained on time, and do repairs of the truck crane telescopic boom. Anti-friction solid-film coatings from the Modengy company help with this.
Use of MODENGY coatings to extend lifetime of the truck cranes
Anti-friction solid-film coatings are the products implementing the long-term dry lubrication technology.
They are used to reduce friction and wear of the parts made of various constructive materials, to protect against corrosion, to improve smoothness of mechanisms operating, and to solve other tasks like these.
To provide reliable operating of the truck cranes telescopic booms, MODENGY PTFE - A20 coating base on polytetrafluorethylene is used.
It forms a wear resistant layer on the surface of the crane segments mated with the slide guideways that has high load-carrying capacity, anti-corrosive properties, and wide service temperature range: -50 to +130 °С.

MODENGY PTFE-A20 is applied by spraying method out of an aerosol can, and requires no heating to get polymerized. Due to this, easy maintenance of the large parts under any conditions is provided.
Single application of the product provides long and reliable operating of the truck crane telescopic booms without stick-slip motion to appear at moving out the segments. This coating requires no refreshment for the entire period of truck cranes operating.
While operating together with a grease, this coating solves the tasks on reducing friction coefficient, preventing stick-slip motion, and protecting the surface against corrosion.
