Tests Purpose
Detecting corrosion resistance of the steel samples treated with various types conservation agents.
Tests Conditions
The tests are holding according to ISO 9227 standard at exposure to the neutral salt mist titled The Tests For Corrosion In The Artificially Created Atmosphere. Tests In Salt Mist.
Equipment
The salt mist chamber of 1001A-PLC Model (Fig.1).

Samples to be tested
For the purpose of applying the conservation agents of two different types, the following samples have been prepared: the plates made of Steel 10 acc. to GOST 1050-88 in quantity of 3 pieces per the conservation agent of each type as well as 3 additional background samples that were not supposed to be treated. The plates surface roughness was Ra=1.25 µm. Prior applying the conservation agents, the plates have been degreased by using Nefras С2-80/120. For applying the conservation agents, the plates were hung up vertically. The content of the aerosol cans was being shaken for at least 10 seconds before applying. After that they were being sprayed evenly from the distance of 25 to 30 cm from the surfaces. Spraying time made 30 seconds. Then the plates were held in the open air in a vertically hung position during 12 hours at room temperature of 22±2 °С.
