A hold-down unit is included into steering rack construction, and it fulfils two important functions. In the first place, it provides requires the gear pair pressing to the steering rack, and in the second place, it prevents the shaft vertical moving at hitting a ground bump.

In process of production or repairs of the pressing-down plates, MODENGY For the ICE Parts anti-friction coating is used.

This product is made on basis of molybdenum disulfide and graphite.

It forms a dry steady layer on the parts that reduces coefficient of static friction in the plate-to-shaft pair, improves smoothness of going, prevents stick-slip motion, provides wear reduction of the contacting surfaces.

How to apply MODENGY For the ICE Parts coating

MODENGY For the ICE Parts coating is released in a set with MODENGY Special Cleaner-Activator. These products are pre packed into aerosol cans to provide easy application without using any additional equipment.

The plates must be dry and clean prior anti-friction material applying. The residues of the factory coating if there are any should be removed.

After the parts have been cleaned by any available methods, they should be treated with MODENGY Special Cleaner-Activator. It completes preparing the surfaces to applying the coating.

Prior applying, the content of the aerosol can with the coating need to be stirred thoroughly. For this purpose, the aerosol can should be shaking during several minutes after knocking of the little balls appears.

MODENGY For the ICE Parts is applied from the distance of 20 to 25 centimeters in 2 layers. Intermediate drying between the layers makes at least 20 minutes (the product must turn matt).

Final curing of the coating is held at room temperature during 12 hours, or in a kiln within at least 20 minutes at heating up to +170 °C.

Single application of MODENGY For the ICE Parts coating enables to improve significantly reliability, and to extend service term of the steering rack ‘dried crust’.
