The tribotechnical plants are intended to recreate some friction processes under controllable conditions, and to register in and out interaction parameters of the samples to be tested.
To correct results displaying on screen, it is required to provide low friction coefficient of the conjugated parts of the plant, no vibrations. For instance, increased friction of the slide guideways causes measurements errors increase.
The producers of the testing equipment use finishing anti-friction abrasive-free treatment (FAFAFT) to reduce friction and wear of the slide guidways.
It includes creating a thin film of a soft metal on the parts. The treatment process is performed on the special machine providing rotating of the cylinder-shaped elements in contact with a rod made of metal. In process of this rubbing, the material of the rod is transferring onto the surface of its mated guideway, forming a steady anti-friction layer.
However, FAFAFT technology used in the units of the tribotechnical machine doesn’t solve the task of providing long protection for the parts against wear. In the course on time, some damages forms on the surface of the slide guideways, smoothness of elements moving, and measurement accuracy are getting lost.
MODENGY 1005 anti-friction solid-film coating is used as alternative for FAFAFT on the slide guideways of the friction machine. It creates a thin steady layer on the parts that contains particles of molybdenum, the solid lubrication.
In addition to longer service lifetime, and effective reduction of friction coefficient of the mated elements, the solid lubrication technology has a number of other advantages including practical applying method (painting), possibility to be used on the parts of any shapes and sizes, aesthetic appearance, ability to operate within a wide range of operational conditions by protecting the parts surfaces against external factors influence.
The anti-friction solid-film coatings are getting more efficient and available alternative for finishing anti-friction abrasive-free treatment, due to a number of operational advantages, and its easiness at use.
