The Modengy company is always ready to provide its customers with information related to anti-friction solid-film coatings.

In order to spotlight the most important features of the MODENGY materials, and the rule of handling them, in as convenient way as possible, a special playlist has been created on the YouTube channel of the company. Several short videos contain entire information on the topics in question.

The most frequently asked questions that Modengy engineers reply to are those about how the coatings operate, and what their high efficiency is based on. The point is the solid lubricant particles that these materials consist of are transferred off the treated part onto the mated part in the process of friction. As a result, a dry lubricating layer is formed that reduces friction coefficient (see the How Do MODENGY Anti-friction Solid-film Coatings Function? video).

The coatings are obligatory stirred before being applied as the dense solid lubricant particles get settled to the container bottom while being stored. This rule is valid both for the liquid materials and for the aerosol ones where the solid components might block the spraying nozzle (see the Why MODENGY Coatings Should Be Stirred, And How to Do So Properly? video).

The coating thickness should make 15 to 30 micrometers, so that it will be the most durable. This parameter is measured with a special device, namely, a thickness gauge with a magnet sensor or a vortex-current sensor (see the How to Measure MODENGY Coating Thickness? video).

The Modengy engineers warn that the matt coating layer can gain metallic gloss. This effect that is called ‘run-in’ is absolutely natural. As soon as friction mode stabilizes, the layer thickness gets more even (see the What Is MODENGY Anti-friction Solid-Film Coatings Run-in? video).
