MODENGY anti-friction solid-film coatings based on different solid lubricating materials such as на основе различных твердых смазочных материалов (tungsten disulfide, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, polytetrafluorethylene were used as samples for studying temperature resistance of the coatings applied by the suspension method.
The scientists from the Stankin MSTU and the MSI RSA have chosen as the aim of their work studying how substrate material, binder, additives, workloads affect the properties of the suspension coatings at elevated temperatures.
The co-author of the study is Mr. Maxim I. Prudnikov, the General Director of the Modengy, LLC.
This study has been published in the Sci, an international reviewable diversified open access journal, where papers on all branches of science are published. This journal supports and promotes transparency, openness, and fast access to the science study results.
The tests of two groups of MODENGY coatings with the different service temperature ranges (up to +440, and up to +730 °C) on the different type substrates (made of stainless steel, and heat-resisting alloy) were held as a part of the study.

The tests for friction were held on the ball-disc scheme in accordance with ASTM G99 standard on DUCOM POD 4.0 (Ducom Instruments, Bangalore, India) tribometer.
The requirements towards heat resistance of the coatings and the equipment parts are constantly getting more strict. The results of the held study will be useful at designing high-temperature solid-film coatings for various industries.
