On order of a large manufacturer of components for transport machinery, tribological tests for the purpose of selecting optimal lubricating materials for lead screws operating in pair with bronze bushings, were held at the Modengy Engineering Center.
After choosing two samples of MODENGY anti-friction solid-film coatings demonstrated the best results in process of the laboratory researches in the bronze-and-steel pair, these products were applied onto the experimental parts.
The lead screws treated with MODENGY coatings have been sent to the customer to hold endurance tests.
Applying anti-friction solid-film coatings onto the lead screws provides effective friction and wear reduction, protection against scuffing, noise reduction, improvement of smoothy going of the gear under conditions of high loads and dusty environment.
Dry lubricating layer accumulates no dust unlike greases, and excludes abrasive wear of the friction surfaces.
According to the test results, one of these coatings will be chosen for further mass application at producing lead screws.
