The Modengy company is setting up release of the coating that combines improved anti-friction and protective properties for the manufacturers of the internal-combustion engines (ICE). The new product for the ICE piston skirts will be brown in color.
The key component of its composition is ceramic fillers that provide high functionality in the boundary lubrication zone.
After it gets cured, the coating interacts optimally with the oil film reducing friction and preventing scuffing.
The functional additives that are the company’s exclusive development, contribute to holding the oil film within the friction zone. They interact with the polar components of the engine oil which leads to forming more uniform oil film.
While engine is running, oil is penetrating into the microporous structure of the coting forming a protective lubricating film. In process of operating, this coating layer is getting polished in a soft way, and thus, reduces friction and improves operating efficiency of the piston.
The composition coating on basis of solid lubricating and ceramic fillers can be used both on the internal-combustion engines piston skirts, and on the compressor pistons (including the refrigerant and air ones), guideways and bushings with boundary friction as well as in the anti-frictional zones of slide bearings where oil film holding, high wear resistance, and heat stability up to +350 °C are required. The coating fits for the parts made of aluminum and steel.
The chemical engineers have two versions of this material in development right now: one with thixotropic properties is optimized to be applied by the screen printing method, and the other one that is intended to be applied by the spraying method. The manufacturers of the items can select the optimal composition that meets the specifics of their enterprises’ technological process.
