The petal gas-dynamic bearings appeared about 50 years ago. Today, they are widely used in various turbo- machines including cooling turbines of the aircraft air conditioning systems, microturbogenerators, centrifugal high-speed oil-free compressors of the water purification systems, etc.

The manufacturers of the turbine equipment regularly appeal to the Modengy company with the problem of increased friction arising between the shaft and the petals of the gas-dynamic bearing at the turbine start-stop moments.

At ultrahigh sliding speeds and increased temperatures typical for turbomachine operating, the petals are subjected to critical heating, and as a result risk of their premature wear grows manifold.

The Modengy engineers have suggested using MODENGY 2560 anti-friction solid-lubricating coating to solve this problem.

It has increased load-carrying capacity and excellent extreme pressure properties, so it effectively protects the turbine shaft and the bearing petals at temperatures up to +500 °С.

The petals treatment with MODENGY 2560 coating has reduced the parts friction by several times, and significantly extended service lifetime of the gas-dynamic bearings.
