The Mechanics Issues Institute named by A. Ishlinsky of the Russian Science Academy (MII of the RSA) is the largest science platform in Russia to learn the Mechanics and other related subjects problems.
The Institute activity directions have to do with mechanics of the various media and processes such as fluids, gas, plasma, composite and nano-materials, gas and laser discharges, burning, explosion, solids deformation, etc.
The MII of RSA experts pay great attention to learning the navigation systems, dynamics of astronomical bodies and controllable space crafts, robotics, and tribology.
The Institute holds 17 laboratories, each of them is specialized on researching these or those mechanics problems.
The Tribology Laboratory, that the Modengy representatives also visited, models and researches the friction interactions of the rough surfaces on various scale levels. Led by Mrs. Goryachev, an Academic of the RSA, the scientists research how surface adhesive interaction impact to their characteristics, model destruction of the contacting bodies at friction, develop the methods how to solve the challenges of friction wear in pairs of different mating materials.
A constructive dialogue took place between the Modengy head and the Tribology specialists, and as a result of it the agreements on holding MODENGY coatings testing in the appropriate laboratory of the Institute was reached.
A number of joint publications on the coatings for the tribotechnical purpose have been planned for the nearest future.
