MODENGY coatings implementing the solid lubrication technology are successfully used to reduce friction and wear of units and mechanisms of the advanced machinery. They operate within a wide range of temperatures and operation conditions.
However, for the high-speed energy machines where petal gas-dynamic bearings are used more advances materials are required that are able to operate at higher pressures, slide rates, and temperatures -50 °С to +500…600 °С.
The solid lubricating materials known for today are of little effect under such conditions since some stop fulfilling their functions at +300..+350 °С, the others reveal their lubricating properties at heating over +400 °С only.
For use under changeable operation conditions the reversible adaptive coatings with structure adapting to operation mode of the unit fit. They combine solid lubricating materials and various additives in their composition.
The Modengy company has succeeded in creating such materials. These coatings adapt to the changing temperature, and retain stable low relative friction coefficient what was proved in process of testing at the Moscow Aviation Institute.
