Ice-resistant fixed platforms are the oil-and-gas field complexes intended for developing hydrocarbon raw materials fields located under marine bed under the arctic conditions.
Such stations are designed to operate in extreme modes related to low temperatures (-60 °С and below), gusts, and storms, thick ice layer around.
The fixed plants have been performing mining operations for several years or decades that’s why all structure elements must be resistant to aggressive climate exposure. Reliability of the marine platforms operating depends to a large extent on the fasteners used at their mounting.
MODENGY 1014 anti-friction solid-film coating based on molybdenum disulfide and polytetrafluorethylene is applied onto the fastening parts used on the ice-resistant fixed platforms. It operates within a wide temperature range (-75 °С to +255 °С), has antiscuffing and anticorrosive properties (more than 672 hours according to the results of accelerated tests in salt mist, ISO 9227 Standard), reduces and stabilizes friction in thread.
This product is applied by standard painting methods onto the preliminary prepared surface of the fastener, and polymerizes at heating up to +200 °С.
Due to use of MODENGY 1014, mounting and dismantling of the threaded connections make easier, their damage because of impact of aggressive climate and high humidity is prevented, service lifetime of the items extends without need in refreshing the layer.
