As a part of upgrading production process, a Russian mechanical plant has implemented MODENGY 1026 coating application onto the door driver axes.

One of the crucial tasks in maintaining the subway equipment is providing long-term protection under conditions of increased humidity and restricted ventilation typical for underground infrastructure.

Under conditions like these ones, the metal parts are subjected to intensive corrosion processes which leads to accelerated wear, jamming of the mechanisms, and premature failing of the units.

Many of the well-known means for anticorrosion protection are unworkable under subway conditions. Thus, the customer remarks lack of efficiency of the method used before: chemical oxidation. The oxide film fails to provide the required level of corrosion resistance at long operating under adverse conditions.

MODENGY 1026 anti-friction coating has demonstrated in essence different approach towards protecting the parts. By forming on the metal surface a thin layer of a polymer binder with solid lubricating materials particles evenly distributed in it, this coating fulfils two functions at the same time: it reduces friction coefficient and creates a barrier that prevents metal from contacting with the aggressive environment.

The coating is applied by the method of spraying out, in 1 to 2 layers, while it is also possible to realize the process without using any special equipment, including by use of an aerosol form of the product. Drying is held at room temperature, without heating, what makes integrating this technology into already existing production cycle easier.

Due to high anticorrosion properties of MODENGY 1026 coating, the task of extending service lifetime of the subway door drivers under adverse environment conditions has been successfully solved.

Use of this coating has enabled to improve operational stability of the subway stations doors mechanisms, and to reduce risks of failures that are so critical for the transport infrastructure facilities.
