Designing of MODENGY 1019 coating for foamed polyurethane as a specific order for an automotive components manufacturer, has completed in the second half of the year 2025.
This product has been created to prevent the seats made of foamed polyurethane from squeaking during operating. The high-level noise and squeak cause discomfort for the driver and the passengers of the vehicle, and decrease the buyers’ loyalty towards the manufacturer.
Today, the Modengy company informs about successful completion of testing the new MODENGY 1019 ‘anti-squeak’ coating. This product was tested on the foamed polyurethane car seats, and it has affirmed its high effectiveness while interacting with the mated elements made of metal and plastic.
In course of testing, this coating completely eliminated noise and squeak that appear while the foamed polyurethane parts are operating, due to reducing and stabilizing friction, decreasing difference between coefficient of static friction and coefficient of sliding friction.
A thin translucent layer of MODENGY 1019 effectively separates the mated parts preventing them from direct contact.
According to the tests results, the decision concerning mass use of MODENGY 1019 as an anti-squeak material in the car seats production was made.
This water-based compound is completely safe in use, and is supplied in a form of dilutable concentrate.
The customer has also remarked a number of additional advantages of MODENGY 1019:
- Good solubility of the concentrate that provides a convenient way to prepare the agent with required working consistency
- Uniform application without dribbles, no lumps and clots that can clog up the spray equipment
- Excellent visual characteristics: it’s a light-colored, translucent, not easily soiled, dry film
- Possibility to be painted by suitable pigment pastes
MODENGY 1019 coating is compatible with most of the structural materials, and has a lot of other potential applications such as treating the wooden structures including floor coverings, eliminating squeak, treating the hidden elements of car, aircraft, railway transport interiors, etc.
