Polymer pipes production is quite common in the today’s world since such items are not subjected to corrosion, they are lighter than their metal analogues, and flexible enough to adapt to various outer conditions.

The polymer pipes are made by way of extrusion, that is, extruding soft plastic mass from a special element called an extruder.

The production process starts with raw material preparation, next the finished powder gets onto screws of the cylinder that is rotating inside the extruder. In course of rotating, the polymer material is heating up to the softening temperature, and is moved on into the extruder to shape a pipe itself.

A manufacturer of polyethylene pipes has faced the issue of hot polymer sticking to the screw surface, and addressed to the Modengy company for help.

The screw is a rod with a solid helical surface all along its longitudinal axis. It carries the main load together with the tangible cylinder, preparing the polymer mass.

In order to prevent the polyethylene from sticking to the metal screw, MODENGY 1007 coating with anti-adhesive properties was applied onto its working surface.

Due to its high separating properties, this coating effectively insulates the surface of the metal-to-polymer friction pairs. As a result of this, the amount of defective items gets lower, wear of the equipment parts is prevented, and quality of polymer pipes production increases.
