A diesel locomotive turbocompressor is an element of the air supply system that is intended to provide the engine with boost air (compressed medium for burning).
Turbocompressor application enables to enforce power of the power units since at such the air supply system much more medium for burning is fed into the engine.
One of the most loaded mechanisms of the turbocompressor is radial and radial-thrust slide bearings.
They are subjected to heavy loads at high movement rate with functioning. Under such operational conditions, these elements fail prematurely, and the diesel locomotive air supply system starts running improperly.
To extend term of trouble-free functioning of the bearings, MODENGY 1066 anti-friction solid-film coating based on molybdenum disulfide and graphite is used.
This product forms a steady wear resistant layer on the surfaces of the bearings contacting the mated part. It reduces friction in the units, and provides extended service lifetime of the parts.
This coating has high load-carrying capacity, and doesn’t wear out even at high loads, contact pressures, and movement rates.
MODENGY 1066 is applied by using the standard painting methods onto the preliminary prepared surface of the parts. Single application of the coating is enough to provide long stable operating of the diesel locomotive turbocompressor slide bearings.
Use of solid lubrication enables to significantly extend service lifetime of turbocompressors, and prevent unscheduled stops of the machinery for maintaining and repairing.
