MODENGY 1107 coating is a novelty in the Modengy’s product line designed to fulfill the tasks of mass motor building. The basic method of applying it is screen printing that provides high layer repeatability, geometry accuracy, and performances stability at mass production.
If necessary, this product can be adapted for applying by the method of spraying out due to dilution with MODENGY 1015 Special Solvent what enlarges application spheres of the coating. In addition to the automotive and marine engine piston skirts, the coating is used on the pistons of compressors, pumps, drives, crankshaft and camshaft bushings, spline joints rods, guideways, plungers of the hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
MODENGY 1107 has passed a complete set of the required tests and confirmed its compliance with the requirements towards the coatings to be operated under conditions of heavy loads and high temperatures, boundary friction typical for the modern powerful diesel engines. This product is also compatible with oils, gasoline, diesel fuel, and is not destroyed in process of long-term contact with these media.
“The engine has passed periodic long-term infallibility tests. The pistons treated with MODENGY 1107 graphite coating retained their operability during the periodic long-term tests,” it is stated in the technical report including the note that after those tests the coating stayed smooth and uniform, without any traces of mechanical damages or peeling, no damage was also revealed on the bushings, and the oil film on the pistons surfaces stayed whole and uniform.
MODENGY 1107 has high thermal stability and a wide service temperatures range from -180 °С to + 350 °С. It has excellent adhesion to metal surfaces. It reduces friction and wear, especially under conditions of boundary lubrication, prevents scuffing during running-in, oil starving, cold starting, and at the engine overheating.
To the date, this coating has already been implemented into production, and is applied by the Russian manufacturers at releasing a family of the powerful diesel engines what confirms practical reliability of the coating, and its readiness to industrial operation.
