At The Polycomtrib-2022 International Science-Technical Conference, the results of researching anti-friction coatings based on molybdenum disulfide under extreme and regular conditions were presented. Among the samples to undergo testing there were 5 MODENGY coatings.
The Researches of Anti-Friction Coatings Based on Molybdenum Disulfide under Extreme Conditions, a stand report, was presented by Mr. E.O. Konstantinov, the Researcher of the Machine Science Institute named after A.Blagonravov of the Russian Science Academy (MSI RSA), Moscow.
The tests were held on the tribological vacuum stand in accordance with ASTM G133 Standard, on the ‘ball along flat’ scheme at +250 °С as well as under regular conditions at +20 °С.
The best result both under extreme and regular conditions was demonstrated by MODENGY 1014 coating based on molybdenum disulfide and polytetrafluorethylene. Friction coefficient of this product in vacuum under +250 °С made 0.029.
Under regular conditions, friction coefficient of all the samples (except MODENGY 1002) has increased what was conditioned by moisture negative impact to molybdenum disulfide.
These research results will be taken into account in a number of the projects related to space program, and thermonuclear fusion.
