Operation principle of gear reducer is to transmit torque from one shaft to another due to interaction of the engaged gear elements.
One of the parts is a wheel while the other is a threaded screw. Friction force arises between them in process of operating which is one of the basic causes of reducers breaking.
Scuffing and cracks appear on the components cogs, gap occurs between the parts, engagement quality gets lost.
To reduce friction in the unit the high-viscosity lubricating materials are used, however, they require frequent refreshing, can be pushed out of applying points, can not stand temperature drops at which the reducers operates such as -60 to +200 °С.
Use of greases in open reducers can lead to accelerated wear of the mated elements as these sticky agents attract dust and other abrasive particles.
As more efficient replacement that enables to create a friction unit that requires no maintenance MODENGY 1005 and MODENGY 1066 anti-friction solid-film coatings are used.
They have high load-carrying capacity, wide service temperature range (MODENGY 1005: -200 to +255 °С, MODENGY 1066: -70 to +315 °С), wear-resistance.
These products are applied onto preliminary prepared parts by the standard painting methods, and get polymerized at heating in a kiln.
As a result of using MODENGY coatings failure-free functioning of worm gears without need in their maintenance is provided.
