The internal combustion engine piston is a part of cylindrical shape that does to-and-fro motions inside the cylinder to transform compressed gas energy into translational motion energy, and to provide crankshaft functioning.
To reduce friction between the piston and cylinder surfaces in process of the engine operating, oil circulates within the system.
The basic cause of premature wear of the parts is their functioning at lack of the liquid lubricating material, particularly, at the moments of motor starting, in case of leakage, or late material replenishment.
Under condition of ‘oil starving’, the components get overheated, scuffing, scratches, and other damages form on their surface, risk of mechanisms jamming increases, the gap between the piston and the cylinder grows.
To prevent negative sequences of units functioning at lubrication lack and overheating, MODENGY 1007 anti-friction solid-film coating based on graphite is applied onto the engine pistons skirts.
It operates within a wide temperature range (-50 to +350 °С), has high load-carrying capacity, and wear resistance, does not destroy at contact with engine oil.
This coating reduces friction of the mated parts under conditions of ‘oil starving’, makes elements running-in easier, prevents scuffing forming, reduces noise from the motor, and extend service lifetime of the components.
This product is used at mass production of the pistons, and is applied onto the prepared surface of the parts by screen printing method. The coating requires no renewing for the entire service lifetime of the elements.
Due to use of MODENGY 1007, service lifetime of the engine cylinder-and-piston group extends, and cold start of the motors gets lighter.
