Open-mine excavators belong to the large earth-moving machinery category to hold open open-cast. Moving along the quarry faces is performed due to the crawler tracks, while digging and rock transporting is done by using a excavator bucket.

Excavators are used virtually non-stop in any season, that’s why high requirement are demanded towards reliability of this machinery operating, and to minimizing downtimes of the equipment.

Durability and functioning stability of the machines greatly depend on the state of their supports, that is sliding bearings experiencing high loads. More than one third of failures of the open-mine excavators occur because of bearing unit parts damage.

Operating with worn bushings and bearings leads to shaking and vibrations arising at bucket moving what, in its turn, stimulates wearing of the other mechanisms of the machines.

For long failure-free functioning the sliding bearings must have high anti-friction properties, corrosive resistance, withstand high unit loads.

To provide these features, MODENGY 1005 and MODENGY 1066 anti-friction solid-film coatings are used on the eyelet bushings and spherical bearings of the open-mine excavators.

They are applied onto prepared surface of the parts by the standard painting methods, and after polymerization at heating form resistant smooth layer of solid lubrication having excellent anti-corrosive properties and high carrying capacity withstanding hard loads even at low rotation speeds.

These products are characterized by long service life, and need no refreshment for entire operation periods of the open-mine excavators bearing units.

Application of the anti-friction solid-film coatings enable to improve reliability and to extend service lifetime of the open-mine machinery, to shorten downtime of the equipment.
