The specialists of the hot-dip galvanizing lines face the need to remove such waste as hard zinc or dross off the melt surface.

It is a sedimentary by-product of galvanic process that forms at hot zinc and iron interacting. Dross needs to be taken out of the galvanizing bath as it makes quality of the created zinc coating on the items worse. Besides, hard zinc can be recycled and used again since zinc content qin it is quite high – up to 95 %.

To collect dross, special robotized complexes are designed that automate the labour-intensive process of removing the waste out of the galvanizing bath, and eliminate need in using labour of the specialists under harmful operational conditions such as being exposed to high temperatures, the air gas-polluted with hazard chemical substances.

Catching and removing the hard zinc is being done with the metal dippers. It is necessary to create an anti-adhesive layer of the dippers surface to prevent the sedimentary products from sticking to it.

To operate under conditions of high temperature, molten drops falling, MODENGY 1054 high-temperature (up to +650 °С) coating with great anti-adhesive properties was designed by the Modengy company.

It forms a steady separating layer on the dippers that enables to remove hard zinc off the parts easily after taking it out of the galvanizing bath. Due to this, engineering process gets optimized, and service lifetime of the dippers extends.
