Control over moving of the shutting element of the shut-off and regulating valves is done by means of the spindle-nut screw pair. The spindle part that extends out of the valve case is sealed with stuffing-box seal.

The stuffing-box sealings made of various materials such as fluoroplastic, asbestos fiber, graphite fillings, graphite foil, and others, are inserted into the space between the revolving spindle and the case. Efficient sealing is achieved due to squeezing the filling element and its expanding in radial direction.

While the shut-off and regulating valves are operating, increased friction appears between the stuffing-box sealings and the spindle that makes revolving and moving of the latter one harder what is especially critical under conditions of high rates and pressures.

In order to provide stable standard operating of the control elements of the shut-off and regulating valves, MODENGY 4002 anti-scoring solid-film paste based on molybdenum disulfide is applied onto the area of the spindle contacting with the stuffing-box sealing. It effectively reduces friction and prevents spindle from jamming, protects against premature wearing, makes parts moving easier.

This paste is easy to apply onto the cleaned spindle surfaces by rubbing motions before the units assembling. This product is characterized by low friction coefficient, high anti-scoring properties and load-carrying capacity, it is held well on the treated surfaces, and has long service term.

Efficiency of using MODENGY 4002 paste in the pair 'spindle - stuffing-box sealing' is confirmed by the largest Russian manufacturers of the shut-off and regulating valves for oil and gas, chemical, and other industries.
