The Russian manufacturer of industrial compressors addressed to the Modengy company for the purpose of extending service lifetime of their equipment.
Air compression in the oil-free compressors occurs due to two rotors (a screw pair) that are rotating in the opposite directions. In process of operating, the parts can get heated up to
In order to protect the screw surfaces, the Modengy’s engineers have selected a coating based on graphite: MODENGY 1007. It is operable at the temperatures up to +350 °С, has low friction coefficient, reduces noise at equipment running, and provides long corrosion protection.
Besides, MODENGY 1007 fulfils function of dynamic sealing providing a proper gap between the rotors due to which air is compressed.
Prior the coating is to be applied, the parts are subjected to mechanical treatment, the sandblast in this case, to prepare the surfaces to applying the protective layer.
Since the coating is thermo-curing, the rotors have to be placed into a kiln for polymerization at
MODENGY 1007 coating is effectively used in the units exposed to heating, that’s why it provides reliable and long operating of the compressors.
