Looking for a complex solution capable to protect the hydraulic fracturing equipment parts against premature wear, a large manufacturer of the downhole equipment addressed the Modengy company.

The equipment operated at hydrocarbon raw materials extraction is subjected to erosive wear as a result of its contact with the cement slurry passing through it as well as of impacts of the aggressive media such as alkaline solutionы, subterranean water, and hydrogen sulfide.

The sought-for coating must effectively prevent damage of the parts under the pointed operational conditions, and at the same time to provide longterm corrosion protection (up to 36 months at storage).

To solve these tasks, the Modengy's engineers have selected MODENGY 1014 chemically resistant anti-friction solid-film coating that is characterized by high anti-adhesive and anti-corrosive properties.

The benchmark trials of this coating for erosive resistance and anti-adhesive properties have been carried out under the manufacturer’s shop conditions. For this purpose, this product was applied onto the hydraulic fracturing equipment coupling. The point of the trial was to keep the solution being tested that contained sand and aggressive substances among the other components circulating for 24 hours.

As soon as this trial stage has been completed, some cement slurry was applied onto those parts before curing to check anti-adhesive properties of the coating. Absence of cement stone adhesion to the coupling surface was marked.

The trials have demonstrated that MODENGY 1014 anti-friction solid-film coating has high resistance to abrasive wear, retains its anti-corrosive and anti-adhesive properties for a long while.
