The ball-screw transmissions (BST) are used to transform rotary motion into translatory motion, or vice versa. They get widely used in many industries, and they including in structure of the electronically controlled machine tools to transmit force from the engine.
The BSTs of the machine tool are characterized by high moving accuracy, and high coefficient of efficiency.
In order to provide quality functioning, the ball-screw transmissions need constant lubricating of their mated parts. For this purpose, MODENGY 1014 anti-friction solid-film coating based on polytetrafluorethylene and molybdenum disulfide is effectively used.
This coating forms a thin lubricating-and-protective layer on the screws that is a matrix of the polymer binder with the finely dispersed particles of solid lubricating substances distributed in it.
The screw of the ball-screw transmission treated with MODENGY 1014 coating after a year of operating in the grinding machine is presented on the picture below. This lubricating coating successfully prevented the parts from jamming and wearing during the entire running term.
MODENGY 1014 coating successfully substitutes greases and liquid lubricating materials for BSTs since it attracts no dust that can cause failure of the transmission, requires no frequent refreshing, and effectively reduces friction and wear of the mechanisms, provides smooth and noiseless moving of the components.
