The Russian designer and manufacturer of drill equipment has implemented MODENGY 1026 coating into the structure of screw bottomhole motor threaded connections which enabled them to increase rate and quality of the equipment assembly / disassembly as well as its operational efficiency.
The screw bottomhole motors are used for vertical, horizontal, inclined drilling the well to extract oil and gas. They are volumetric hydraulic motors that drive the drill bits on.
At assembling the threaded connections of these motors, the manufacturer faced an acute issue of forming thread scuffing that limit the connections movability, make the mounting and dismantling processes hard. This issue has been successfully solved with anti-friction solid-film coating.
MODENGY 1026 coating based on molybdenum disulfide is applied onto the threaded areas of the screw bottomhole motors by the method of spraying out, and forms a thin dry lubricating layer of the parts that prevents direct contact between metal surfaces and their deformation at assembling the connections.
This coating that has high anti-corrosive properties (more than 760 hours according to ISO 9227) also provides high resistance of the units towards destruction being exposed to adverse outer factors.
MODENGY 1026 cures at room temperature due to what it is successfully used to lubricate and protect large-size parts that are hard to place into a kiln to heat them.
Use of the anti-friction solid-film coating provides quality mounting and easy dismantling of the connections even after a long operating under adverse conditions, effective protection against corrosion and damages.
