Pipe ribbing is a technology to create metal ribs on the smooth pipes to improve heat transfer, and to improve their efficiency.

Ribbed pipes are widely used in the oil-and-gas, nuclear, chemical industries, machine engineering, fuel-energy complex, and many other production fields as important elements of the heating and cooling plants.

There are various ways to rib the pipes, one of the most common one is spiral ribbing. It is welding a metal band to the outer side of the pipe as a continuous seam which makes the rib.

High-frequency metals welding enables to fix the rib on the pipe surface in a reliable way, and to create high-quality items with improved features such as higher heat emission, light weight, and long service life.

At ribbing pipes made of stainless steel with copper bands, an issue of copper sticking to the guiding disks of the equipment arises. This leads to decrease of process efficiency, and quality of the items.

To prevent copper from sticking, the manufacturer of the ribbed pipes applies MODENGY PTFE-A20 coating with high anti-adhesive properties onto the guiding disks of the machine tool.

It creates a thin separating layer on the parts that protects against copper band sticking.

MODENGY PTFE-A20 coating is convenient to apply out of an aerosol can, and it cures at room temperature within half an hour that’s why it is used under production conditions without using any additional equipment.

Use of this anti-adhesive coating enables to significantly reduce copper band sticking onto the parts of the machine tool preventing in this way need in stopping the automated production process, and improving quality of the ribbed pipes.
