Railway switch is a complex of mechanisms intended to move the railway stock from one branch line to another one.
Parts of the switch electric drive are put into a metal case, and operate the whole year round under conditions of the frequently changing weather, high humidity, exposure to aggressive liquids to clean railway tracks. The units operate at high loads and friction.
As a result of this, the drive elements are subjected to corrosion, the mechanisms seize and fail at a very crucial moment. To replace the worn parts they have to stop motion entirely at the transition area what causes time and financial difficulties.
To provide stable operation of mechanism for switching railroad points even after a long downtime, MODEGNY 1005 and MODENGY 1014 anti-friction solid-film coatings are used. These products effectively protect against corrosion forming, reduce friction in mated parts, and extend service lifetime of the device in general.
Applying the coatings is performed by the standard painting methods. These are the products of thermal curing, to get them polymerized it is required to keep them in the kiln at +200 °C within 40 minutes.
Due to applying MODENGY anti-friction solid-film coatings, failure-free operating of the railway switch electric drive for a long while is provided.
