Gyratory crushers are machines intended to crushing large fractions of solid rocks. They are indispensable for mining industry as well as are widely used in metallurgy, and in chemical industry. These devices provide continuous crushing, and are capable to function even under fallen rocks.

Basic parts of such machines’ structure are movable crushing cone, immovable bowls, drives, feeding holes, gap size adjusting system for crushing.

Rocks crushing in the gyratory crushers performs due to a cone moving in the crushing chamber. The cone evenly draws near and away from the crusher immovable body walls creating great pressure onto the rock lumps while getting nearer. The materials crumble under pressure falling into the unloading section through the gap in the crushing chamber.

Depending on the sizes of the rocks that should be crushed, there are machines for large, medium, and small crushing.

At assembly many parts of the crushers are connected with threads. The producers of the equipment remark that scuffing and galling are formed on the thread turns at this stage.

To provide quality mounting of the gyratory crushers, MODENGY 1003 anti-friction solid-film coating based on molybdenum disulfide and graphite was applied onto the buttress thread of the mechanisms for fixing, and gap adjusting.

It has high load-carrying capacity, great anti-scuffing properties, low friction coefficient, and long service lifetime. It is able to cure at room temperature what is very relevant for large-size parts what are the threaded parts of the crushers.

Due to dry texture, this coating doesn’t lose its properties at operating in open unit under conditions of high dustiness.

A crusher treated with MODENGY 1003 coating has successfully passed tests both at the equipment producer, and at the customer. According to the results of mounting and dismantling of the threaded connections, no scores or gallings appeared on the thread turns. In process of similar testing with use of a grease from the other producer, a great number of thread galling was observed.

Crushers treated with MODENGY coating will be operated in process of developing one of the largest copper-and-molybdenum ores deposits. Use of this product in process of releasing new items has been planned.
