One of the leading enterprises of the nuclear energetics has held researches of wear resistance of MODENGY coatings on the slide bearings of the nuclear reactor drives.
Titanic rings used as slide bearings get intensively worn in process of operating. MODENGY coatings were applied onto the parts for the purpose of extending service lifetime of the units under conditions of being exposed to inert gas.
Volume of the service lifetime tests for wear resistance of the coatings on the bearings that were held on the drive test sample made up 4,000 cycles.
MODENGY 1006 coating has withstood double service lifetime tests on surface of the the slide bearings – 8,000 cycles.
Average wear of the rings with MODENGY 1006 coating applied on them found out to be less than average wear of the bearings made of the material that was used in the unit before.
Taking into account the test results, it was recommended to use titanic rings with MODENGY 1006 coating in the structure of the nuclear reactor drives.
