The doctoral thesis titled Extending Service Lifetime of the Trucks Based on Functional Tuning of the Equalizing Beam Suspension Sliding Bearings by Mr. Alexey Yu. Rodichev where the experimental and analytical results of using MODENGY coatings as one of the ways to achieve long-term operability of the units at repairs and maintenance of the equalizing beam suspension are presented, has been successfully defended at the Oryol State University.
The research study has revealed high effectiveness of using anti-friction solid-film coatings in the truck equalizing beam suspensions (extension of service lifetime of the sliding bearings by 55 to 62 % has been proven).
The methods of testing, results control, and comparative analysis of MODENGY coatings and the imported coatings are described in details in this thesis as well as the economic effect of implementing these anti-friction coatings into the structure of the bronze sliding bearings has been determined.
In particular, the following conclusions have been made: the comparative analysis of MODENGY coatings and their imported analogue has confirmed superiority of the former on parameters of adhesion strength and tribological performances.
”A number of comparative tests for a group of two brands made in Russia (MODENGY, by the Modengy, LLC), and in the USA was carried out by the method of detecting adhesion strength by opening mode loading, according to GOST 27890-88 standard, and as a result superiority of domestic MODENGY materials over their abroad analogues has been revealed. Under the standard conditions, MODENGY 1003 has demonstrated strength by 47 to 73 % higher than the materials produced in the USA; MODENGY 1005 has exceeded figures of the closest samples by 9.5 to 52.6 %. Supposedly, the advantage of MODENGY brand products may be due to optimized composition of the binder and uniform distribution of the fillers."
By decision of the Supreme Attestation Committee, Mr. Alexey Yu. Rodichev was awarded the Doctor of Engineering academic degree.
