Use of the petal gas-dynamic bearings (PGDBs) is the most perspective for the high-speed turbo-generator units of stationary and transport versions.

The PGDB structure includes metal plates that are assembled into a single system in the shape of ring.

Their principle of operation is based on creating a so called ‘gas wedge’ between the parts that is formed at high rotate speeds of the devices, and provides stable shaft motion with no need in renewable lubricating materials.

At the start-stop moments of the micro-turbine plant, when the rotate speeds are the lowest, the petals are intensively rubbing against the shaft surface what leads to their frictional heating and premature scuffing.

In order to reduce friction and wear of the contacting parts, MODENGY 1014 anti-friction solid-film coating is applied onto the petals surface faced to the shaft. It forms a resistant dry layer on the elements that effectively reduces friction coefficient of the mated parts, prevents scuffing and other damage forming on the plates.

MODENGY 1014 is applied by the standard painting methods, and polymerizes at heating up to +200 °С within 40 minutes. After that, a resistant protective layer is formed on the elements that provides a reliable operation of the petal gas-dynamic bearings, and requires no refreshing for the entire term of their functioning.
