Edge-soldering units are packaging machines at which automatic or manual packaging the items into polymer film, and edge-soldering of the film are performed to prevent the products from damaging, to insulate it from the environmental factors, to improve transportation convenience.
Edge-soldering is done by using heating elements, and cutting off the residues of extra film quantity after soldering is done with the metal scissors with sharpened edges.
In process of cutting off, the issue of polymer material sticking to the knives surface arises. Because of this, the quality of the seam in the point of cutting off get worse, processing line operational rate reduces, and unscheduled stops of the equipment are required to remove the stuck film residues.
As an effective solution of this issue MODENGY 1007 and MODENGY 1014 coatings with high anti-adhesive properties from the Modengy company are used.
They are applied onto the entire surface of the knives except the cutting edges, and create a smooth separating layer. It service as a barrier between the tool and the polymer material preventing their direct contact, and solving the sticking issue.
MODENGY coatings serve as replacement for the imported anti-adhesive products based on Teflon since they have the better performances, and have longer service lifetime due to high wear resistance.
MODENGY anti-adhesive coatings are applied onto the preliminary prepared surface of the cutting tools with the standard painting methods, and get polymerized at heating in a kiln.
Due to use of these coatings, productivity of the edge-soldering units improves, unscheduled downtimes of the equipment for cleaning are prevented, as well as the service lifetime of the knives extends.
