For the turbine plants where the petal gas-dynamic bearings are used, increased friction between the shaft and the petals at the moments of running or stopping the units is a relevant issue as this results in frictional heating of the parts. Ultra-high slide speeds, and increased temperatures worsen petals heating even further, and as a result lead to their premature wear and failure.
As a solution for this issue, MODENGY 1014 and MODENGY 1071 solid-film coatings are applied onto the petals surface. They have enhanced antiscuffing properties, and load-carrying capacity, that’s why they effectively protects the parts against wear, and provides reliable operating of the unit.
