Components of blowout preventer equipment (BPE)
Preventers are the equipment that blocks flows from a well and prevents emergency blowouts of oil and gas. Drilling safety and flow control directly depend on their proper operating.
There are important parts in this unit: a rod and a gasket ring. The rog drives the flow shut-off mechanism while the ring provides tightness of the connection between the flanges.
The problem is that they operate in aggressive environment: high pressure, chemicals impact, continuous friction. Under such conditions, their surfaces wear fast provoking risk of jamming and loss of tightness which can lead to equipment failure.
To solve this issue, MODENGY 1014 coating is used. It reduces friction and protects the parts against wear and aggressive media impact, and due to this their service lifetime extends, and stability of equipment operation increases.
